For an active leak, the first task is controlling water and protecting the occupied area. We trace the likely entry, check drains and inspect nearby seams, penetrations and edges. Temporary protection may reduce exposure while we determine permanent materials and limits. An interior stain does not identify the entry point; water can follow insulation or deck joints. We record what was observed and which areas need close review. After stabilization, a roof inspection decides whether a bounded repair fits or more investigation is needed.
